Product Manager

Product Manager

We sell business and sales analytics software to B2B companies. Our Product Managers determine development priorities and the user experience. Product Managers own the entire lifecycle for a given area of product development and work directly with an assigned engineering team.

If you had this job today, you would have:

  • Met with customers and prospects about their needs in one of our core use cases, e.g. sales forecasting or sales pipeline analysis
  • Measured results via quantitative usage, metrics, and KPIs
  • Prototyped algorithms, visualizations, UX flows, or controls
  • Worked side-by-side with engineers to build features, fulfilling a Scrum product ownership role
  • Launched features with effective internal and external product marketing
  • Collaborated with groups throughout InsightSquared to solve problems and uncover new areas for growth


We look for three main criteria in all of our hires:

  • Wattage: the brainpower to learn quickly and figure out whatever challenges the startup environment throws at you.
  • Get Stuff Done” gene: a bias towards action rather than sitting in meetings.
  • Aptitude: strengths within customer empathy, design sense, product strategy, prioritization, and communication.

Our Product Managers typically have a few years of experience working directly in software, usually in either a technical or customer-facing role.

Be sure to mention if you are familiar with:

  • Analytics: Excel, R, SPSS, SQL, or similar tools manipulating data.
  • SaaS software: how SaaS products are organized and designed.
  • SMB market: how the small/medium business leader thinks.
  • Coding: making small changes to adjust logic or copy.
  • Design: high fidelity mockups, polished frontend interactions, information architecture and design thinking.
